The Yoga Confessions

Forgive me, Teacher
for I have not
put the time and effort
into my asanas.

It has been six days
since my last session.

My pranayama is
I can’t seem to focus
on not focusing my mind.

My Kapotasana is lop-sided,
my Tadasana is short,
and my Balasana
tends to fall asleep.

Kundalini just
makes me tired,
and my Sarvangasana
is always falling down.

I won’t even begin
telling you about my Savasana.

Teacher, please help me
to find the strength and will
that lies inside
to continue my practice.
